Championship Final

Danglers took on Crown B in the final match of the season, held at The Corner Flag.

All present observed a minute's silence to honour the memory of Quiz League participant and Interrogator Mark Jackson, who passed away recently.

Crown B gained a three-point advantage in the first conferring round, which they increased to a seven-point advantage by the halfway stage.

After sport conferring Crown B held a 51-42 lead but, going into sport individual, Danglers had recouped three points. Sport individual proved to be the turning point, with Danglers winning it 9-2 and grabbing a single-point lead overall.

With the final question of the final round to answer, the teams were level at 72 all. Fortunately for Danglers - and unfortunately for Crown B - Andy Faulkner knew the correct answer to his question and Danglers took the Championship game 74-72.

Championship Semi Finals

League Champions Danglers saw off Parkers Arms at a packed Sea Anglers Club. Danglers took a small lead from the off but by the halfway stage the teams had been level on points for two rounds. Danglers regained an advantage in the sport conferring and cemented a 77-65 win by the end of the evening.
Crown A held a small lead over Crown B until the seventh round. Crown B took this section 9-3 and maintained the resulting lead to the final question, finishing as 77-74 winners.

Handicap Final

Once again the Y2Ks started the night with a significant lead, this time 35 points against Crown A. The Crown won all but one of the first seven rounds, cutting the deficit to 18 points, but an under-par performance in the sport individual round meant that - with a 13 point lead - Y2Ks could not be overhauled going into round ten.

With the Crown again under-performing in the final round, Y2Ks extended the winning margin, the game finishing 99-83 in their favour.
